Unique And Unusual Ways To Feel Less Stressed Out

According to the American Psychological Association, 77% of US adults experience physical side effects of stress on a regular basis. Since that’s a very high number of people who are literally suffering as a result of stress, it’s a very serious problem. If you feel that stress is having a negative impact on your quality of life and want to find a way to reduce it, here are six interesting strategies that can help:

Get and Give a Massage

Most people know just how good a massage feels. And while professionals do a great job of providing them, you don’t have to pay just to cut down on the amount of stress in your life. If you want to relax, create a soothing environment for you and your partner. Once you’ve set the mood, you can take turns giving each other a massage. What’s great about this approach to relaxing is even when you’re not receiving a massage, you’ll find that the act of making your partner feel so good will still relax you.

Turn Off Your Computer

There are two reasons that closing your laptop or turning off your desktop monitor can bring your stress levels down. First, the constantly updating nature of sites like Facebook, Twitter and Reddit can make your brain feel like it never has an opportunity to relax. If you’re always chasing new information, you’re never going to have a chance to decompress.

Second, using your computer shortly before bed can disrupt your body’s circadian rhythm. Whenever that happens, it means you’re not going to sleep as well. And if you don’t get a refreshing night of sleep, you’re almost guaranteed to be more stressed the next day. Also, if you believe that the TV is more of a distraction in your life than the computer, it’s also worth seeing how keeping the tube off for longer periods of time makes you feel.

There are many different ways to meditate. If your primary goal is to use this practice to feel less stressed, you should experiment with a few different approaches and see which one works best for you. Some people find that meditating in complete silence is best, while others prefer to put an instrumental song on loop and focus all their attention on it. Other people feel that they get more out of meditating with their eyes open and staying focused on a single spot than they do from practicing meditation with their eyes closed. The main thing to remember is when it comes to meditation, the best form is whatever is most effective at helping you feel relaxed.

Try Aromatherapy

Devices like the Plenty Vaporizer make it easy to inhale vapor from essential oils like chamomile and ylang-ylang. These aromas have been linked to a variety of benefits, including the reduction of stress. As you can see, the Plenty Vaporizer is optimized to provide the easiest delivery possible. Keep in mind that just like meditation, you should use your Plenty Vaporizer to experiment with a variety of essential oils to see which ones or blends you like best.

One of the reasons you may feel so stressed is between work and family responsibilities, you feel like you already have too much on your plate. Since exercise takes time, you may think that another obligation is the last thing you need. But before you fall back on that excuse, it’s worth noting that exercise has been scientifically proven to reduce stress. Additionally, reducing stress through exercise doesn’t mean you have to hit the gym on a daily basis. Although there’s definitely value in going to the gym and using weights, exercise can be as simple as walking outside and going for a thirty-minute jog.

Get Intimate

Looking for a solution that combines the benefits of massage, exercise and even aromatherapy? Then you need to make intimate time with your partner a top priority! Even though it can be tough to fit into a busy schedule, being intimate with your partner as little as twice a week can help you feel less stressed.

The unfortunate reality about stress is for most people, it’s not something that’s going to disappear overnight. But even though you may not be able to completely eliminate stress from your life, massages, turning off your computer, meditating, aromatherapy, exercise and intimacy are all tactics that can help reduce it.
